We went looking for the ones actually worth planning your evening around, from a CDMX-style cantina inside Ovation Hollywood to a rooftop with Hollywood Hills views. Hours and offers were accurate at the time of writing, but restaurants change their happy hour terms often, so it’s worth a quick call or check before you go.
1. La Popular Hollywood — Happy Hour Tacos + Beers
Happy hour runs Monday and Wednesday through Sunday from 3–6pm and 9–11pm, with all-day specials on Tuesdays — tacos and beers repeatedly called out as incredible value. Monday through Friday, 3:00–6:00pm, with specially priced cocktails, wine, beer, and bites across multiple restaurants under one roof — the pizza-and-pasta side, the rooftop Terra with its wood-fired grill, and a Capri-themed bar. Worth it: if you want variety without hopping venues, this is the pick — three distinct happy hour experiences without leaving the building.
3. Lemon Grove — Curated Cocktails, Wine & Shareable Plates
Wednesday through Saturday, 5–7pm, on the rooftop of The Aster — a Michelin Key–awarded private club — with panoramic Hollywood Hills and Capitol Records views. It’s genuinely one of the more scenic happy hour spots in the city, paired with curated cocktails, wine, and shareable plates. Worth it: the view alone justifies a visit, and getting rooftop access to a Michelin Key property during happy hour pricing is a rare combination.
4. The Front Yard — Reportedly $5 Menu Items During Happy Hour
Monday through Friday, 3:00–5:30pm, with menu items reportedly running $5 during the window — a neighborhood favorite that’s repeatedly landed on multiple Yelp happy hour lists. Worth it: this is the easy, no-fuss pick on the list — a genuine local spot rather than a destination restaurant, which is exactly what makes it a reliable regular happy hour.
5. Met Him At A Bar — Weekday Happy Hour Until 7pm
A weekday happy hour that runs until 7pm — later than most of the others on this list, making it the easiest one to actually get to straight from work without racing the clock. Worth it: the extended window is the whole appeal here — no 5:30 sprint required to make last call on the deal.
Plan Smart, Spend Less
If you want a view, head to Lemon Grove or La Popular. If you want variety under one roof, Eataly LA covers three happy hours at once. And if you just want a reliable, no-plan-needed weekday stop, The Front Yard or Met Him At A Bar are the easy defaults.
